DrM Consulting Services Ltd is led by Dr Mike Smith, an engineer, developer, trainer and practitioner with experience across the full ACFM lifecycle.

More than 25 years in ACFM.
Mike worked for TSC Inspection Systems and later Eddyfi, where his final role was Technical Director. He led development of the Eddyfi Amigo2 and U41 instruments, wrote, taught and assessed ACFM training courses, and led the training and certification scheme for ACFM operators on behalf of TSC.
From 2007 to 2013 he lived and worked in southern California with HSI Group, leading development of a multi-technique crawler for reformer tube inspection.
Mike sits on the ASNT Electromagnetics Committee and the CSWIP Welding Specialists & Practitioners Management Committee. He is also an assessor of UK Engineering Council registration candidates with the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing.

Assignments are approached from first principles: understand the decision the inspection must support, identify the applicable technical requirements, and provide clear input that the client team can act on.
