Dr Mike Smith

Dr Mike Smith, BSc (Hons), MBA, PhD, CEng, FinstNDT is CSWIP L3 ACFM certified with over 25 years of experience as an ACFM developer and practitioner. He worked for TSC Inspection Systems and later Eddyfi (ACFM systems manufacturer), his last role being Technical Director. Mike led the development of the Eddyfi Amigo2 and U41 instruments. He wrote, taught, and assessed many ACFM training courses and led the training and certification scheme for ACFM operators on behalf of TSC.
Between 2007 and 2013 Mike lived and worked in southern California for HSI Group leading the development of a multi-technique crawler for reformer tube inspection.
Mike sits on the ASNT Electromagnetics committee, on the CSWIP Welding Specialists & Practitioners Management Committee and is an assessor of UK Engineering Council registration candidates with BiNDT.
